As you are probably aware, WiFi networks have exploded in popularity over the past few years. No surprise that, after all, they are a lot more convenient than having to plug yourself into a wall every single time you want to connect to the internet.

For the most part they function well, and you can go many years without there being a problem.

Now what happens if your WiFi stops working though? What happens if you have trouble connecting to the internet? Well, you may have a problem with your drivers, let’s take a little look at how you can solve this.

Solving WiFi Driver Problems

So, what is a WiFi Adapter Driver? Well, I am not going to go into too much depth on that, you don’t really need to know to be honest. However, to put it in the simplest way possible, it is a small piece of software which communicates between your WiFi adapter and the Windows operating system.

For the most part they function just fine, from time to time though, there could be errors in the coding, just like any other piece of software out there. They could function for many years before they just suddenly stop working. It is an easy problem to solve though!

If you are experiencing any of these most common signs then it is likely that you have driver problems. Thankfully though, they are easy to solve, as I am going to show you later!

  • Your Wireless Network disconnects regularly.
  • Wireless Network is running very slow
  • Your device manager shows that there are unrecognized devices on your computer.
  • Wireless Network is not up to the speeds that other computers on your network get.
  • You cannot connect to a wireless network despite other computers being able to do so.

There are a couple of solutions that you can use to fix the problem. They all boil down to updating the drivers on your computer though! Let me run you through two of the solutions that you have available.

 Update Your Wireless Drivers

The first is to find your drivers online. For this you are going to need a couple of pieces of information. The first thing that you need to know is the name of the adapter which is causing the problem. You will also need to know the exact operating system you are using. You can then head online and find the driver you need. Make sure you get the right one though, if you don’t, and it isn’t installed correctly then you can make the problem a lot worse.

In my opinion, you should try out a program known as Driver Turbo. This is a great program which finds the right drivers for you and even installs them! This ensures that not only can you get your Wireless Adapter working again, but you can also do it without causing any problems to your computer.

If these solutions don’t work then it is highly likely that you have a faulty wireless adapter. Don’t worry though, this isn’t a particularly common problem, in fact, it is very rare that this happens. You will most likely find that Driver Turbo sorts out any problems that you may have quickly and easily.
